My boyfriend is a HS teacher and has writing pretty similar to this. Teachers leanr how to teach in college. Penmanship classes aren't a requirment for graduation.

trust me, some teachers do have bad handwriting. i have to ask my chemistry teacher to translate everything he scrawls, sorry, writes. as for the sealing with wax thing? a little weird.

My, college, English teacher has terrible handwriting. It took three of us to decipher what he had written, and we were still slightly off.
