Electricity wasn't invented, it was discovered, and not simply by one person though it, in written record, began with William Gilbert - not Benjamin Franklin as so many are lead to believe. Tesla invented the Tesla Coil; saying he invented electricity would be like saying Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan invented oxygen. (They invented the Aqualung.)
