How did they not realise the Yomama tree sounds suspiciously similar to "Yo mama" as in "Yo mama so fat..."

Actually, the yomama leaves decrease the speed your mitochondrion eat away at sugars, and therefore increases production in fatty acids....

This reminds me of my psych 105 test. "You are a physiologist and have tried everything to cure x patient. You know X patient is not actually ill. They insit they are and waste your time Is it ethical to use a placebo without telling them?" I answered it proberly, and then put in a foot note that if you've already tried everything, shouldn't that include a placebo?

This would most likely be a higher level undergraduate course (soph/junior). Primarily pre-med students and bio majors. This question is answerable even with basic Bio 102 material if you think about it creatively enough. That being said, probably a TA wrote/graded the brain teaser hence the sense of humor. (My orgo TA once came to section in a ))(( forever tee shirt).

Minus three (but not really). Here, the instructor is the comedian more than the student. Having grown up in Detroit, he claims the Yomama tree to be a native species to the area.
