That teacher is such a bitch. He/She says that the kid was right and the teacher was wrong, but says that he should never question a teacher's knowledge ever again. I'd be so pissed if this happened and if I were the kid's parent I would fight it.

Um...Just my two cents but a mile is 1.6 kilometers. He was wrong, I'm sorry everyone but the teacher was wrong in saying he's correct at the end and the people pissing off over authority should realize that he was wrong, and the teacher has just as much right to correct the student with her facts as the student is to correct her with his opinions, which were wrong.

I´m mexican, but studied elementary school in the U.S. During high school here in Mexico my "english teacher", mexican as well, stated that desert and dessert meant the opposite. Even he pronounced them wrong. I corrected him in front of class and that was it. He failed me because he would´n t recognize his major mistake. What a stupid looser! Of course I went to the principal´s office and after hearing both stories and our allegations I was excused from the class the rest of the semester, with an A+.
