Unless your name is "Billy Richardson" and you went to Curtis High School, then it's not your test. I have seen the original document and I know the teacher that graded it. It's not polite to lie online. I went to high school and college with him and yes, he is ALWAYS that awesome.

Um, if it moved up the slope after coming to "rest" it wouldn't have been at rest, and how could it stop and come to "rest" again midway back up the slope. Can the person who drew the elephant give the teacher a FAIL? Actually, I think he/she did in the only way that makes sense.

in response to this ===> "(b) Does the object continue to move after it comes to rest?" - ummmm no. I must say, who ever said that is totally retarded. the oject wil rest for a small glimps of time then be shot back up the ramp by the spring...... dear God who ever said that is dumb

"The kid is clearly smarter than the teacher. There isn't a correct way to answer that question, unless we live in imagination land where an object can move against another one without creating any friction whatsoever and objects can also contine to move after coming to a rest.........might as well draw an elephant......" Its called physics. sometimes in questions they 'neglect' air resistance, friction etc.

That problem is pretty easy. You just have to set 1/2kx^2 equal to mgh and solve for x.
